Gayani has held positions in multiple institutions as a certified records and information manager for operations, finance, human resources, legal, compliance, and risk, where she created the records management program and led a team to implement it nationwide. Prior to records and information management, she held leadership roles at GE Capital, where she gained experience in servicing various types of commercial loans, leading a team to book deals subsequent to final legal approval of all documentation. She also led acquisitions and was the main point of contact for internal and external audits.
